What is Crowfunding?

Crowdfunding is a way to get money for a company or project by asking a large number of people (crowd) for support. In return for investing small amounts of money in a company, investors may get equity shares (equity crowdfunding). Investors can also invest in a small piece of a larger loan. In return, they may receive interest (debt-based crowdfunding or p2p lending). Reward-based crowdfunding and donation-based crowdfunding are also very common.

Crowdfunding can be used to finance project of different size and nature, such as commercial ventures, cultural and charity events, music and movie productions, scientific research, inventions development, and more.

Crowdfunding a project or venture is typically done over the Internet
